Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
